Margaret Bagley
Welcome to my site!
I was born in Ogden Utah and know it well. I paid attention to the memories of my eighty year old grandmother, who lived with us. Her name was Dora. I was schooled in Ogden and later graduated from the University of Utah. I lived in Ogden until 1961, but time and distance away didn’t dull my interest and memories of my hometown. While away I worked as a special education teacher and later was involved in women’s healthcare. I am a classically trained pianist and entertain with my husband on bass, playing in retirement venues in Salt Lake and Ogden. We are parents of three, grandparents of six.
My Novels
A blue wooden chest crosses the Great Plains in 1868. It held all of the possessions of a young wife, pregnant and eager to reach her new home. For some the crossing was uneventful for others, it was a harrowing experience. For Eliza Jensen, it would determine her life’s work.
The ebb and flow of everyday life pursuits spun into tragedy and a story emerges of love, frustration and passion. For Lou, the son Eliza bore, life was over before his fortieth year.
One hundred-year-old letters bring the intermountain locale to life. Stunning conversations ring with authenticity, the dialog weaving a narrative crafted from the letters themselves.
Dear Kiss, true to life if not true to every fact… and it all started with a Mormon handcart.
ANNIE ELGIN (coming soon!)

Annie minds her millinery and the attention of Nelson Chandler. Hat sales and a new beau are the least of her problems, as assault, murder and an Ogden mystery begins to unfold.
